Where Are You in the Process?
Every family gets to this point differently. You may be having the first conversation, already planning the move, or standing in a house full of belongings wondering what happens next.
We're Just Starting to Talk About It
Mom or Dad may know a change is coming, but no decisions have been made yet. This is a good time to understand the options before anything feels urgent.
Mom or Dad Has Decided to Move
Once the decision is made, the questions become more practical: what happens when, what comes with them, what needs to happen to the house, and how the timing all fits together.
The Move Has Happened. Now There’s a House to Deal With.
Sometimes the parent moves first and the family is left with the belongings, home preparation, repairs, cleanout and eventual sale. We can sort through what actually needs attention and build a plan from there.
We’re Ready to Prepare and Sell the House
If the next step is selling your parent’s home, we’ll determine what preparation makes sense, what probably doesn’t, and how to position the home well for the Minneapolis and Western Twin Cities market.
A PLAN FOR MOM'S HOUSE

1. UNDERSTAND THE SITUATION
We start with where things stand today: Mom or Dad’s plans, the home, the timeline, who’s involved, and the decisions that still need to be made.

2. MAKE A PLAN
We identify what needs attention, what can wait, and what should happen first so you’re not trying to solve everything at once.

3. COORDINATE THE PIECES
Movers, belongings, donations, cleanout, repairs, and other resources may all be part of the transition. We’ll figure out what help is needed and how it all fits together.

4. PREPARE THE HOME
Before spending money or starting projects, we’ll look at the home through a buyer’s eyes and decide which improvements are worth making—and which ones aren’t.

5. SELL WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT
When the home and the family are ready, we’ll position it for the market, manage the sale, and keep everything moving through closing.
Why This Kind of Move Fits How I Work
Helping a parent move can require someone to think about the house, the people and the logistics at the same time. That combination happens to fit the way I’ve learned to work.
Experience With Life’s Transitions
For more than 20 years, I’ve helped people navigate the decisions, details and changes that come with buying, selling and moving. I’ve also moved more than 30 times myself, so I understand that what looks straightforward on a checklist can feel very different when you’re the one living through it.
Military-Grade Logistics
My time in the U.S. Navy taught me to plan ahead, anticipate problems and keep a lot of moving pieces headed in the same direction. Those skills are particularly useful when a home sale also involves family members, belongings, vendors, repairs and a move happening on different timelines.

Questions Families Often Ask

Where do we start if Mom or Dad is thinking about moving?
Start by understanding the situation before trying to solve every problem at once. We can talk through the home, your parent’s plans, timing, belongings and any immediate concerns. From there, we can identify what needs attention first and what can wait.

Not Sure What Comes Next?
You don’t need to know whether the house should be sold now, what needs to be done to it, or how all the pieces are going to come together before we talk.
Tell me what’s happening with Mom or Dad and the house. We’ll start with where things stand today, talk through the options, and figure out the next practical step.
